Somatic Intensives are a personal retreat, with multiple sessions per day. They are an ideal way to experience the positive outcomes of therapy in a shortened amount of time. You will benefit from a Bodhisattva Bodywork Somatic Intensive if you:

Somatic Intensives are made up of 60 or 90 minute sessions. Area residents may choose to start with a single day, while those traveling to Funchal may opt for a multi-day program. As an example, a one-day Intensive might contain a Physio-Spiritual Etheric Bodywork or reiki session in the morning to clear energy fields, a post-lunch break SE™/Somatic Touch session and a late afternoon relaxation massage. A typical three-day Intensive might start with a cranio-sacral therapy session, add several SE™/Somatic Touch and Feeding Your Demons® (FYD) sessions, and conclude with an integrating massage. Regardless, each Somatic Intensive is custom-designed and is constructed around your specific therapy goals.

Bodhisattva Bodywork is located in the central Lido area of Funchal, Madeira, Portugal, at Rua Velha da Ajuda 12, only 16 km from Cristiano Ronaldo International Airport. Out-of-town clients will find numerous lodging and dining options nearby, and rental cars, taxis, local buses, and Bolt (an Uber alternative) are readily available.

Madeira is a world-renowned resort destination. Annual temperatures in Funchal average between 14C (57F) and 27C (80F), so there’s never a bad time to visit. Between sessions, you may enjoy local walks, and the beautiful Monte Palace Gardens, Botanical Gardens of Madeira, and Funchal city center are just a short commute away. After your retreat, take time to explore the rest of the island. Levada walks, hiking, water sports, cable car rides, breathtaking viewpoints, and more are easily accessible via public transportation, rental car, or private tours. Any transportation, lodging, dining, and entertainment costs are in addition to Somatic Intensive pricing, and are the responsibility of the client.

Additional Helpful Information

  • Somatic Intensives must be scheduled in advance. I prepare and maintain a grounded, safe container for your experience; you are my only client during your Somatic Intensive.

  • Pricing is US $149/135€ per 60 minute session; US $199/185€ per 90 minute session. Cash discounts are available; please inquire.

  • Maximum benefit will be attained with careful adherence to retreat-like constraints. A clear schedule and minimal contact with outside demands and electronic devices is best. Your body may feel tired, and it is recommended that time between sessions be spent resting or engaging in contemplative light exercise (strolling, gentle yoga, etc.). This time is your gift to yourself—allow yourself to be immersed in the experience!
